Does My Diet Or Certain Foods Cause Acne Breakouts?
|None of the
myths about acne have annoyed me more in my personal struggle than this
one. I used to hate when people would tell me that I shouldn't eat
something because of my acne.
No, in general your diet or certain foods such as chocolate or French fries do not directly cause acne.
Acne is caused by changes in your body chemistry due to life events such as puberty or the menstrual cycle.
Some people still feel strongly that certain foods such as dairy products may make their acne worse. If you suspect that a specific item in your diet causes your acne to flare up, try not eating it for a few weeks.
A poor diet consisting of mostly junk food and fast food will most certainly make overall health and acne worse.
If you're really dedicated to helping your skin clear up, make it a daily routine to eat healthy well balanced meals and take a multi-vitamin. Also be sure to drink plenty of water to help your body clear out all of the toxins in your system.
